I’m in the middle of something i don’t fully understand yet.
My childhood friend Mark is missing. I’m in India to search for him.
He went missing somewhere near Leh. I connected with some long lost
folks in Delhi and the bylanes of Chandni Chowk and have picked up a
clue. and now..get this..i need 100 stories of people who’ve ‘earned
it’ (to know more about what earning it means go here). So if you know of someone / something that has ‘earned it in your opinion – pls post your story in the comments or mail me on theoldhound AT gmail.com (if your story/episode/mail works for me, trust me i’ll repay your effort and of course i’ll feature it here with your name – nearly 2000 people read this everyday!) Don’t ask me why but it seems like the beginning of this sort of madness!

What has telling stories got to do with finding your last friend?? This makes no sense.
Here’s how i earned it. I work in advertising.
8 am: wake up thinking about the promo tvc on that client who never releases a promo tvc or any kind of tvc. You know it wont happen.Still you try to crack it. Hope is the key word.
8:30 am: bathing and thinking about the tv promo opportunity.
9:30 am: cracks something while on the way to the office.still thinking.
10 am: Having break ‘fast’ and thinking.
10:15 am: about to script the promo when distracted by servicing personnel 1 – a leaflet is on fire.
10:30 am : trying to put of the fire, when servicing personnel 2 arrives with flier,poster and standee campaign, with special recommendation from my own senior.
11:am senior reviews the leaflet. He needs to see more line options, though he likes the ones i wrote (by now the leaflet is in ashes)
12:35 pm: re-work on lines, share ideas on flier,poster and standee campaign, bounce promo tvc ideas. ideas liked but has to be thought more on..cos the day is only halfway through.
1:00 pm Leave for lunch with prior knowledge of what will happen next.
I ean my bournville and eat it too after lunch.
