I’m in India now. Just landed. Met up with an old friend who’s going to help me trace Mark. The cops found Mark’s clothes and some bits and bobs from Mark’s personal effects. Need to go underground for a few days to re-conect with more old hounds who can smell our Mark’s trail. Back soon

Thursday, July 9th, 2009I’m humbled by the response to my request for help in tracing Mark.
Ever so often we declare our lack of faith in the world. Strangers scare us.
We take shelter in the coccoons we’ve spun around ourselves. Considering
Mark’s gone missing while discovering the big bad world one does feel that the best course would’ve been to stick it at home! I mean one only needs to pick up the paper to understand how dangerous our world is! Terror, Bombs, riots, assault on women and children, genocides in darfur and hunger in Africa..i could go on.. but then that’s not all there is to the world..to our lives
I’m not given to emotion easily but the mails and messages that i’ve recieved have genuinely moved me.
I now know that Mark disappeared around a place called Magnetic Hill which is on the Leh-Kargil-Baltik national highway, about 30 km from Leh (Thanks Bhakti & Kaushal, You guys have earned my respect, i’ve posted your helpful comments below) I’m rushing to the airport now, will post as often as i can. Need to trace the German dame since she’s the last one who saw Mark. Please check my Facebook page for updates in the interim.
Help!
Tuesday, July 7th, 2009This is getting pretty sordid! The German bird just called and she seems to have lost it! Between her mumbling and the call dropping I could only pick some words…it seems that their bike conked off along the way after Rohtang and they took a lift in a tourist van (of course she didn’t get the license plate number of the van). They were bone tired and the girl claims to have slept off immediately while Mark decided to grab a snack. This is where it gets really nuts – Just before Leh something inexplicable happened, she claims that the driver switched off the engine and the car still kept moving at a steady pace…as if being pulled by a magnet!! This was near some hill just before Leh. She slept off thinking it was some sort of oxygen deprivation induced hallucination (not the only thing she was high on, I think). When she woke up, Mark was gone. The van driver was spooked as hell and wouldn’t answer any questions. The only good thing (if there’s any good in this) is that the Police have traced the driver. Looks like I’m going to have to head out to India and have a chat with him. In the meantime, Does anyone know about this place? This ‘magnetic hill where cars move on their own’! Please post any info you come across (as comments), and PRAY for my friend mark
